2 Tim 1:9
8 "who has saved us and
called us with
a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose
and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began..."
NKJV
What is your purpose? Why are you here? Perhaps
you have entertained these types of questions about yourself. I know I
have!
Every human being was created in the image of God
and for His glory. He made us to have
communion and fellowship with Him. Each
life has value and worth, and all should be done within our lives to bring
glory to God. He has made us to have relationship
with Him. All of us have an even greater
purpose. We have some type of mission.
We have a mission field or area of ministry.
In order to know what that is, it is important to discern His direction
and plan for Your life.
When the Lord saves us, He redeems us from sin.
Our lives then become His; the direction and purpose are His design and choice. Too many Christians receive Christ in order
to avoid an eternity in hell, but continue to direct their own lives, with no
regard for His purpose for them. This is
a warning sign that Jesus is not truly LORD of your life.
No matter your season in life or station, you are
here because God has willed it so! You
still have purpose, you still have a calling.
So how do you find out what it is? Begin to evaluate what your passion is- what you have a burden or drive for. Then try some things and see how it
works. If you step out in good faith and
miss God, He will be faithful to gently steer you back to the path. God is pleased when we try to know His will,
and will reveal it to us in His
time. Seek His direction. Then listen!
Dear
Lord, I want to know Your direction. I
desire to hear Your voice and fulfill Your purpose for me. Reveal yourself to me, O Lord, I pray. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
