Transformed

2 Cor 3:18

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

NKJV

I love to watch a transformation- the emergence of a caterpillar to a butterfly.  The beauty of the sky at sunset.  A makeover.   It is just thrilling to see something go from plain, or blah, to something dramatic and beautiful.

When we first come to Christ, we come with all of our baggage.  We come with  our sins, shortcomings, hang-ups and character deficits.  But the Lord immediately begins the metamorphosis, and we become His child.  A display of His splendor.  A reflection of His glory. But it does not stop there.  As we continue to walk with Him, commune with Him, learn from Him, and give Him access to the deepest recesses of the heart...we are changed.  From glory to glory.

There are always new depths with Him.  There is always greater glory.  We do not have to be satisfied with our current state.   He will work with us  as long as there is life.  And when this life is over, we will be permanently changed into our fullest glory.  We will be made to be the best "us" we will ever be.  We will be perfect...

But until then, we must keep cooperating with the process.  We have to submit ourselves to the dealings of the Holy Spirit and allow him to chip away all that defiles us. We have to allow Him to infuse us with His thoughts, His feelings, His attitudes and His values.

We do not necessarily grow at a steady rate.  Sometimes we have a growth spurt, other times,  it seems that we become frozen in the process.  But as long as we are guarding our hearts and putting Him first, we can trust Him to conform us into His.   Do you want to become more glorious?  Just ask Him to have His way in your life!

Dear Lord, please help me to submit to your processes.   Give me the grace to receive your transformation.  Make me a display of Your glory.    It is in the matchless name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.
