"Those
who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame."
Psalm 34:5
What do people typically say about pregnant women?
They are glowing; they are radiant. I know that there are physiological reasons
why a mommy-to-be has that tendency, but I think a lot of it springs from the
fact that she is filled with expectation. She knows at the end of
it all, she is going to get what her heart is long for- a beautiful
baby.
As Christians, we too, are expecting. We are expecting so many things in the Spirit
as well as the hope for a future that we will enjoy in heaven with the One we love.
This expectation is underscored by the fact that we know that in Him we
will never be put to shame.
But it is more than that. Just as Moses spent time in God's presence,
and became so radiant that he had to literally cover his face, we can have that glow from time in the
Spirit. We are to be a reflection of the
Son, our countenance should show forth
his glory in this world. If we
want to "shine" for Jesus, we will have to make some sacrifices in
our schedule to spend that time in His presence, soaking up his anointing, his
presence, and his aroma. If we look to
him and put our trust in him, we have the assurance that rather than being
disgraced, we will shine for him!
Dear
Lord, help even my countenance to testify
that I am a child of the King.
Let me experience and show forth your glory.
In
Jesus' Name. Amen.
